Great Bass
Resolution is just a bit above average and the transients are quite fast. Sub bass is really amazing and extends very low. I'm not so sure about upper bass though. The overall tuning isn't entirely neutral and sometimes in some situations it can sound a bit thin or sound like something is not quite there. The upper mids sound slightly off and highs are just a bit boring and less spacious and less engaging than other iems. This might be a good thing if you're sensitive or you get fatigue often. Overall these are good for the price, but they're not super amazing either. I wish i could return this and try something else, but drop has a NO REFUND POLICY on these iems , so please BE CAREFUL. Wish i had known ahead of time before taking the risk. I think I'm done purchasing audio from drop. They're really not bad however. One good thing with single driver iems like these is these sound more consistent, coherent, and more well put together than most multi driver iems. I wouldn't say these are super far off from what you would imagine an iem version of a more bassy HE1000 Stealth headphones to sound like. Headphones usually sound superior, however, and Hifiman makes more coherent planars than what the Supermoon can produce. In comparison to the HE1000, the supermoon has better transients and bass, but worse space, tuning, and resolution. I don't know what other planars the Supermoon can be compared to aside from that.

Turcoda_PandaI got these as well and I 100% agree with your assessment of the tuning! There are definitely things that other official reviews online haven't mentioned - particularly the upper mids sounding off, and everything sounding unnaturally thin sometimes. I was almost wondering if I was sent a faulty unit! Some of those issues are remedied by sticking to the foam tips, which aren't for everybody. Like you said, they're overall solid for the lower price, and the sub bass is bananas. But they're also definitely my last blind buy - especially from a place with no refunds.

jasonwhatYeah, I agree. These are great for bargain and value hunters out there. For the price they will be hard to beat. But for anyone looking for end game or just a single iem that does it all, the 1k$+ mark has better competition.

K.KwonWhat kind of signature do you like? If you like extremely good resolution, separation and speed i can recommend the Sennheiser ie900, which is truly an endgame iem in my experience. It beats UM Mest MK2 and Linsoul Jupiter in that regards noticably. If you rather just feel the music without analyzing it the beyerdynamic xelento remote 2 ist an amazing option. Its also the smallest (an Most comfortable) high end IEM i know. The Mest MKII is somewhere between the Sennheiser and the Beyerdynamic. : Sennheiser - extremely precise / Beyerdynamic - extremely emotional / UM Mest - extremely fun

77777Thank you for your help! I am actually looking ie900 and um mest mk3. Mest mk3 is a bit out of my budget but I am willing to pay little more if it is worth it. I tried ie200 to see how sennheiser would sound like. I like the sound signature except I could ask ‘slightly’ more bass. Problem is I had hard time putting ie200 in my ears. Even with the largest tip, it wont stay. I wonder how mest mk3 would sound like compare to mk2 besides that, I just bought supermoon anyways since price was good. I was very impressed with vocal, sub-low, and kick. Response is extremely fast (probably because its planar) and punchy. Vocal is very pronounced relative to other instuments. I found this iem is very fun to listen fast songs but not too impressive for slow songs because One thing this iem is missing is treble. I like V shape sound so maybe thats my personnel preference. Base is great but treble is less pronounced. Sound stage is good but I’ve seen wider sound stage with less expensive iem.

K.Kwon1Mest MKII is quite a bit warmer then MKII. I can recommend SpinFit W series for the Sennheiser ie900. I have seen others with the same fit issue like you have and These tips solve this quite often. The ie900 doesnt have the most amount of bass, but the quality is extremely good. Resolution and layering is also the best i have heard in an IEM. The Mest cant match that, but Mest can sound more fun at times. I can definitely recommend both. If you have a warmer source (DAP/ Cable etc.) i would recommend the ie900 or Mest II, because Mest III ist already a warm sounding IEM. If your Equipment is reference you could be happy with either. I am also thinking of trying the Supermoon, but i am not sure yet.

77777thanks again! for helping me to find the end game. you meant to say Mest Mk3 is warmer than Mk2? I think that is a typo in your comment :) I would definitely prefer crisp, sharp, high resolution sound over warmer sound. more towards to reference sound. I think I should try spinfit W on my ie200 and see if it works for my ears. thank you for the recommendation. I am using Fiio M23 now and I believe AKM is somewhat warmer than ESS. it is ok but I may upgrade to M15 or even M17 someday. do you have any reference like DAP to recommend as well? I am also open for stationary DAC/AMP. sorry if I am asking too much. I never tried um before so I am curious how Mest Mk2 would sound like... who knows? I may end up buying both :) Supermoon is more like fun sound for me, although some people say it is reference-like sound. I wish it shows more color in treble but it's ok. I am using Xelastec eartip and it helps a little for treble but still not enough to meet my preference. but for the price now, I think it is a good buy. I wish it came with 4.4 instead of 3.5.

K.Kwon1In my experience ibasso makes really good DAPs for the money. I had a fiio m11 plus, then changed to a ibasso DX300 which was a big Upgrade. Then i tried both the shanling m9 plus and the ibasso dx320 max. The shanling was not better then the dx300 (more Energy, but worse Soundstage). The 320Max was in another league: resolution, imaging, Soundstage, layering.. everything. What i can also recommend is the music Player Bubble UPNP. It sounds much better then every other i have tried Like Neutron or USB Audio Player Pro for example. You can also stream music with it and it sounds better then in the streaming apps themselves. In my experience cables make a really big difference too. The best cable ive heard yet was the liquid links venom. In my experience Mest is also a fun focused IEM - but a really really good one. The bone conducter makes a crazy bit stage too with sounds coming from all around you. The IE900 is more of a reference IEM with better coherency. But both are great in my opinion.
