ExOfficio Give-N-Go Men's Base Layers
I have several of both. Uniqlo Airism is slightly thinner fabric and lighter, and are a bit shorter - they tend to ride up more easily than ExOfficio's on the thighs (though both will with lots of active movement). I think the ExOfficio's are better quality in terms of durability - I'd rather wear them on a long backpacking trip for instanc . However, I prefer the Airism for work outs since they are thinner and so much cheaper.

The way I see it, the Swiftline needs the 10" bathtub floor because the fly doesn't come all the way to the ground. So the tall bathtub floor is your only protection against winds, blowing snow, rain splatter etc: Whereas the X-Mid has a fly with full coverage. So the fly acts as this barrier, which has the benefit of keeping you warmer and your gear in the vestibules a lot more protected from rain/snow. I see this as a better approach...
