ColorWul Yarn by Patons
Yes, you can definitely use this yarn to make a blanket.
I would suggest to search on www.ravelry.com for a queen size blanket pattern you that uses bulky weight yarn, then divide the yardage required by the 90 yards per skein in this product. Personally, I usually buy an extra skein to accommodate for any unforeseen mistakes or disasters (I'm fairly new to knitting and have three cats who love "helping").

Lend a hand?
Loving the idea of this knitting community. It seems awful quiet though (as far as drops go, I mean). Is there anything we as members can help to get the ball rolling on amazing yarns, notions, patterns, kits, etc.?

Less acrylic content?
My girlfriend loves to knit, and I'd like to get her knitting stuff. But she hates acrylic and sticks to wool, alpaca, cotton, and blends. Do you think you might go to more natural yarns on mass drop, and less acrylic?

Is it possible to have the option to order an extra skein for a total of 4?
Three is such an awkward number since the cowl pattern provided requires 2 skeins :/

Know your audience
As an experienced crocheter and beginner knitter, I'm just getting over myself that it's called knitting and not yarncraft or something.
I think the drops requested in the polls are by and large more what you're talking about and what people would buy: a bunch of yarn, enough to make a specific pattern, but nobody's tying you down with notions and patterns.
The problem with the yarns that have been dropped so far, I think, is that there is a HUGE...

New Year, New Projects!
Not sewing or quilting, but I've got knitting on my mind again! I just knit this fox hood/hat for a family member - started Jan 1 and finished Jan 3 (and yes, that is a roll of paper towels that I'm using as a mannequin head). I'm going to be doing a sweater or shawl soon as soon as soon as I can commit to a pattern!

Blocking
What are your favorite tools for blocking? I am getting back into knitting after a two year hiatus due to school. I plan to get into sweaters this fall/winter, so I just wanted to get an idea of what people use for blocking their items.

Cascade Yarns - We need a knitting community on Mass Drop
I too would love to massdrop yarn. Knitting is such a big community and for one sweater it can take 5-6 skeins. We don't tend to buy one at a time. I came to massdrop looking for yarn.

Lend a hand?
A pretty major problem is that it's the start of festival season- many vendors may not have time to add a new wholesale account, much less dye up yarns (for indie dyers). A good compromise might be to check Ravelry's trending patterns and the yarns used there- or contacting a designer and getting their ear for a bit.
I think thay that there are some good things that could be down the line- the Blue Sky Alpacas buys were great! But we also need to...

Yellowstone Cardigan Kit by We Are Knitters
Also any chance of a clear shot of the front and back of the sweater? While the close ups of the yarn itself & tech specs are helpful, the actual garment & stitch pattern are obfuscated.

La Biene Aimee Yarn
I'm researching how to get La Biene Aimee yarn into the USA. I have a friend who just got a few skeins & am awaiting to hear where she got them. Any interested parties?

New Community Mega Thread: Knitting
Please don't forget about crochet. Crocheters use all the same yarn and have patterns for almost everything you can knit as well. Offering crochet hooks and patterns as well would be nice.
