TurkayHi Turkay, I remember two instances where customers with SE846s demoed our models. They were both strictly focused on the bass response in comparison to the SE846 so they zero'd in on our U8 which is tuned to have a bass focused, dark sound compared to the U4-SE and U5. Both customers felt the U8's bass didn't reach the same level of punchiness as the SE846s. Shure accomplished something very unique with it's bass delivery in that model. If strong bass response is a reason you're considering the SE846, then the U4-SE and U5 are tuned for a different purpose. I don't remember if they gave their thoughts on the mids and highs so hopefully another owner can chime in.
Audio64LLCWow, thanks for the honest response. I don't want to say it's refreshing per se, but it's always nice to see a manufacturer compliment a competitor's product. Granted, the SE846 is so well regarded in the industry. Nevertheless, thank you.
