I just wanted to reference this review of a adel iem and was wondering if any one knew if the apex modules where effected in a similar way ?

CyrusGuybrushI experience this with my custom AAW A3H Pro. I believe it's called bone conduction. It's a side effect of the seal created by the CIEM. Not sure if/how the ADEL & APEX modules deal with it.

CyrusGuybrushI wouldn't necessarily say that. It depends on several factors: how well the earphones seal, how much contact the shell is making with your ears, etc. Customs are just more prone to this phenomena. I actually have only one earphone of a universal earbud in my ear at the moment, but can hear the movement of my jaw as I open and close my mouth. Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing without actually trying out the earphones.

rantnghmmm im well aware of that but i was refering to this section
Like alot of IEM users, my listening is mostly done on the go. On the way to work, shopping, at work, walks, etc. This is a big problem for these, why? Just like an open back headphone, there is very little in the way of isolation. This was a BIG shock to me on that first night. When I demoed the A12s at RMAF, you're just sitting there calmly, not moving. So while these things really really sing in a quiet setting, they are a whole different animal in the real world. I went out for a walk that first night and had my image of the A12 pretty shattered. As I walked around town on a nice evening, I kept hearing this THWAPP THWAPP THWAPP noise during low-medium volume sections of songs. I thought maybe the cables were bouncing around as I walked, they weren't. Perhaps the seal in my ears were breaking? They weren't. I touched the ADELs and it went away instantly. You know what it was? My shoes on the pavement. As the ADELs were moving around doing their thing, they were letting in the sounds of my feet. You can also imagine how irritating that is.
are you saying this affects all iems or you think just adel and apex iems ?

CyrusGuybrushUnfortunately, it does happen with all IEMs. I do notice it more with my customs. It's unfortunate manufacturers haven't been able to address this. Like you, I also do most of my listening on the go and it can be really distracting, especially at lower listening levels. I don't currently own any ADEL/APEX IEMs, but apparently this phenomena occurs with these IEMS as well.

CyrusGuybrush@CyrusGuybrush from what the Reddit user is describing it was most likely wind noise from ADEL modules or the ADEL membrane were too loose. With apex modules there is no membrane (we use a studio grade TPE material) and the vents on the modules are placed in such a way that there is practically no wind noise.

CyrusGuybrushAdels are much better than the Apex, but the apex costs them less to make, so its like a cheaper knockoff. having used both on my A12's the apex win hands down, the apex barely do anything.

Audio64LLCApart from the fucktonne of wind noise the apex modules make. The adels beat them hands down, sadly not everyone had a good experience with the adels being consistently good
