Hi all,
Another very satisfied U4-SE(B1) user here--just opened the box. I am listening to Five Finger Death Punch - Far from Home, as well as Collective Soul - November & Garbage - Cherry Lips. I am playing MP3/Flac from my PC via USB3 cable and a Dragonfly 1.5 DAC. I have never honestly heard this much separation / soundstage in an IEM. I am listening to them w/the largest choice in the Ortofon Silicone Eartip Set For Eq-5 And Eq-7 Earphones that someone mentioned earlier in this thread--thanks for that.
I hope to be able to compare them one day to the U10s which I initially backed off from due to price. This is still the most expensive set of headphones I have ever purchased.
RM44, thanks again for the recommendation.
Dicloneus can you provide any feedback on using the dehumidifier? Rather than using the enclosed option (assuming in the foil pack) I was thinking of just buy something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Resound-ReSound-Hearing-Aid-Dehumidifier/dp/B00OQR4X8I/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1475393167&sr=8-1&keywords=dehumidifier+jar

jb70Thanks @jb70. Glad to see you and more people enjoying their 64audio iems.
Over the weekend I tried u4se with mam set very close to fully open and I don't want to take off my iem from my ears. To me mams are the best module.

jb70@jb70A little followup on the dehumidifier recharge process. After some rigorous research, I found many users to opt for the microwave route rather than the instructed oven heated at 195F. I experimented with several time lapses, and found 3 to 4 bursts of 2 minute intervals worked best when the beads are completely green. You can see the beads rejuvenating its amber colour after the first 2 minutes. Between each interval, be sure to air your microwave out a little.
DO NOT PUT IN THE MICROWAVE AS IS. TAKE THE BEADS OUT OF THE CONTAINER BEFORE MICROWAVING. It will potentially melt the plastic and you'll be left with toxic disaster. The top lid (the black label with oven instructions) is just a thin piece of paper keeping the beads in the plastic container, so I just wedged a xacto knife between the ledge of the container and the paper, and pried it open. Be sure to do this on a paper towel so a) the beads don't burst out everywhere, and b) you can place the beads in the microwave with the paper towel to help with the dehumidifying process.
I guess I should invest in some hearing aid dry keeper container in the near future, as this process can be a drag sometimes... Not only that but, there's only so many times the flimsy piece of paper can withstand the prying open process before it reaches is breaking point...

Dicloneus@DicloneusThanks for the feedback. I will definitely try out the process as you described, and a hearing aid drying container would be nice too. Would you place the entire set of IEMs in a hearing aid container or just the individual IEMs without the cords? I am not to knowledgeable about detachable cords, so am not sure if removing the cables constantly from the earpieces would cause degradation or a loosened connection over time.
Oh, one last thing, I noticed some pics on 1964s site w/the dehumidifier container sitting in the carrying case w/the label facing up, and another pic from the head-fi.org site w/the case turned upside down, and I was thinking that the label should be on top so that the moist air could reach the beads more easily since the little container does not seem to be perforated or otherwise open besides the top.

jb70@jb70For me personally, I would use the case to bring with me on the go, and use a drying container for when I'm at home. I believe it isn't a good idea to detach the cable very often, especially with the 2-pin cable. I remember being super cautious detaching my beloved Triple Fi 10 pros for the first time when exchanging the cable for a third-party upgrade. Whereas it shouldn't be a problem for MMCX plugs often seen in Shure IEMs and the like (adopting the button-like plug system), 2-pin custom IEM cables are definitely more prone to damage due to their fragility. So I guess it is a better idea to throw them in the container with the cable attached. The dehumidifier may potentially help with oxidation prevention of the 3.5mm plug as well (well... it's gold-plated so it shouldn't oxidize THAT easily...but better safe than sorry!).
I have yet to try out facing the label upside down. I personally think it's not that big a deal, and even if it is, the difference is probably extremely miniscule.

DicloneusDicloneus, Just a follow up, the dryer cup I bought on Amazon has been great, it will even completely dry out the tiny drier pack that comes in the 64 audio case. I have not had to actually even "recharge" the beads in the larger container b/c there are so many inside and the top seals much better than the IEM case. I just drop the IEMs into the cup and seal it up for a day or so, and I'm g2g.

jb70I got myself this: http://www.e-earphone.jp/shopdetail/000000105309/ when I visited Japan few months back and it's been treating me great. Especially when I got myself a bulkier 8-core cable to complement my U4-SE.
Though, I might consider your method as well. Being able to "recharge" the beads themselves is really appealing.
