Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Whether it is the "burning in of drivers," "electrical current pruning of the cables," "loosening of the initially stiff ADEL filters," or whether it was simply a phantom phenomenon, who knows... But from my subjective experience, there was definitely a dramatic change in sound, for the better of course.
I found the U series to heavily rely on eartips. Comply tips were never the choice for me as they are quick to wear and tear, and they tend to soak up the sub-bass and high trebles. I quickly modded a pair of Shure olive tips as they are by far the most condensed foam tips I've seen (aside from the almost equally dense Westone Startips), and lo and behold, I could pick up more of the sound qualities that were missing from the Complys. I've recently tested out SpinFit eartips, and boy are they a game-changer. Shure olive tips tended to make the U4SE a tad warm, and I deemed it necessary since, as I alluded before, U4SE tends to be very peaky right from the get-go. But as the tonal chaos tones down over time, they started to feel a little too warm for my liking, and opted for SpinFit (came with the Lyra IIs from a drop couple of months ago ;) ). With the SpinFits, you can really pick up the sub-bass, visceral in quality, and the once initially peaky and ear-piercing highs now rounded out nicely after "burn-in" is very pleasurable and definitely frisson-inducing.
