Surely Apex modules will be included. Its a way to introduce it to the users on a mass scale. A few reviews on the Apex technology vs the ADEL would be nice. They are supposed to sound alike.
The new universal series with Apex modules are NOT ADEL compatible. The old universal series with ADEL modules ARE compatible with APEX.

SayexI thought they are pretty similar. But the guys who made the ADEL technology stopped working with 64 audio, hence why they had to change the name?

SayexFrom what I was reading on HF, someone contacted 64 audio about the compatibility of the ADEL and Apex modules. Apparently anything with ADEL in it will be compatible with the Apex module, but might require some kind of small adapter.
Side note. These of course would drop the day after I got my JH TriFi IEMs from Japan. 😠

Outsider7pAsius technologies is the owner of the ADEL patente, and they are still producing the ADEL modules. I think they are going to work with Empire Ears now, havent read Much about that. The thing is that 64audio stated that the Quality of the ADEL modules wasnt what they expected, and i think thats were the troubles begun. So they develope their own technology (APEX) based on what they learned while working with the ADEL modules. This way the had control over the deliveries of the modules and the quality control. I currenrly own a u6 series, and i have to say i haven't found anything wrong with them. Great iems, recommended.

SayexThere is some controversy around the break-up. ASIUS by all accounts was caught surprised by the introduction of the APEX. They had some jointly developed products that were set to debut, and a stockpile of modules for 64 Audio's customers with an early adopter discount on all new modules for 64 Audio. 64 Audio has switched to APEX due to price, and there is unlikely they would have developed APEX without having had a relationship with ASIUS. I wouldn't buy any arguments that 64 Audio is making about ASIUS, because now they are the only two manufacturers of a pneumatic pressure reducing technology for IEMs. They have made it clear that they want to be competitors with ASIUS instead of partners by making their new IEMs incompatible with ADEL modules. I don't think 64 Audio did this because of quality issues, I think they did this for profits. They can make a lot more money with APEX modules produced at lower cost in house (and from cheaper materials), while at the same time temporarily denying their former partner a market while they look for their next partnership. It's dirty pool and hyper-competitive amoral market behaviour.
If you want to give your money to 64 Audio whilst they clear out their ADEL module stock, this appears to be the place to buy. I'm not buying. I'll wait for the next Kickstarter that ASIUS runs, because I'm betting one is coming up, and I'd rather give my money to the folks who put the work in during thirty years developing the technology rather than the folks who've copycatted it for profits in the past six months, kicked their business partner to the curb, and left the inventors hung out to dry under questionable circumstances.

micahjroseI still stand by this statement as a representation of how I felt when I said it. At the same time, the fact that ASIUS is on thier third partner in three years says something. It is also the case that other manufacturers have now come out with similar ideas to relieve in-ear pressure, and they are proprietary too. This situation was a complex situation, and now the reality I look at after hearing units with ADEL and without is that ADEL did some cool stuff, especially with regards to soundstage, but the IEM manufacturers that previously had ADEL still make some of the best sounding IEMs on the planet. 64Audio's Tia Fourte is one of my top 2 in-ears on sound. The more I've seen into the headphone manufacturing world, the more it becomes clear that there is a tapestry of grey, with little in the way of right and wrong. At least 64Audio makes a soundly engineered product that lives up to the hype.
