TonyRizoYou should try Shure SE846. Quads are very decent, but not the best if you want neutral sound.

Shinigami84There's been reviewers that have the Shures 846 and say that the 1more gives them a run for their money. 1k vs 200 bucks. Not on your life, I'd pay 1k for IEMs. ....can anyone say diminishing returns?
TonyRizoThey do not sound the same at all. What reviewers are you referring to? I had both the triple and quad and ultimately returned them. Also, the 846 can be had for $700 new or a bit over $500 used these days. They are still quite the bargain.
Throw in better ergonomics, a better (and replaceable) cable, as well as the filtering system and accessories, and you get a more resolving IEM that has a better soundstage and much better low-end response. The 846 also scales better with nicer equipment and a balanced cable which pushes its sound quality even further north. Even looking at their FR, the Shure (Black - https://www.innerfidelity.com/images/ShureSE846BlackFilterSampleB.pdf and White - https://www.innerfidelity.com/images/ShureSE846WhiteFilterSample2.pdf)is substantially smoother and more controlled than the Quad (https://www.rtings.com/headphones/1-2/graph#469/2031) which has dips and spikes and is somewhat all over the place. For the cost, there are better options than the Quad. Compared to more expensive units and the gap is much larger than "diminishing returns." The difference is night-and-day.
Mind you, this is my opinion but unless you're comparing the Shure 846 to something like the Noble k10 you can't really claim diminishing returns.

TonyRizoHow they sound to you depends heavily on what you want to hear. If you want to hear a lot of punchy bass, natural-sounding monitors are not going to satisfy you (bass will be "weak"). If you, like me, prefer natural sound, clarity, detail and instrument separation, you may prefer SE846 instead.
Always try to listen to headphones before purchase, because how much you will like them will depend on your ears and your taste. Sound is extremely subjective.

Shinigami84I agree with that, I should have clarified, the 1 more are not audiophile IEMs but are super good sounding IEMs, the best sound short of being analytical. My go to headphones are the Monolith m1060c modded open back and my Beyerdynamic dt1990. Hands down.

Shinigami84"You may prefer a $1000 pair compared to a $140 pair."
Thanks for the insight… ◔_◔

Shinigami84Sound IS extremely subjective. I think what you call natural is actually called shrill, and natural is what some call dark. Hearing a string quartet in person is not the same as hearing a string quartet on a "flat" headphone.
