1more sent me one for review last week and I dragged it to NY and all around can jam just to show it off. These are ASTONISHING cans for $250 and even more so for $200.
Also they are actually a 2 way active. They count the passive radiator as a "driver". The Ceramic Piezo Tweeter is just enough to make this sound very special. And since they have been tuning them for a year (saw at last years canjam) they are basically amazing.
and a 10k soft Crossover point for the tweeter means it is actually doing something.
Oh and the bass is incredible once you break it in for a few days.
oh and high-gain is recommended. Because inefficient crossover.
ZeosPantera@ZeosPantera could you comment at all on the bass/sub-bass performance of these new 1MORE vs. the RBH Sound HP-2 Ultralight Beryllium headphones, which you've reviewed in the past? I have the HP-2 and it demonstrates some of the best sub-bass I've ever heard (especially quality-wise) in a headphone, so a comparison against it would help me understand the new 1MORE better, and better calibrate some of the other reviews I'm seeing for it.
natefariousIt's going to be hard to beat the HP-2... the insane linearity in the bass region is a function of an XBL2 magnetic motor design. The licenses are expensive, but the HP-2 happens to be the designer of the XBL geometry.
Astro_SevenWell if I am still wearing them today after a weekend in NY with them and other heavy hitters on the table it means something. Also the Advanced Alpha's are exactly what I wanted in a Planar dumb can.
natefariousI think with enough power you could get that sort of low end but the HP2 are strictly bass cans from the start. An EQ would be needed to really match these to those. The bass on this set exists and feels much more controlled / limited which can be seen as a good thing. Its much harder to subtract bass from a headphone than add it in most cases.
texindusI always give moving bits some time. I found the bass lacking out of the box or I wouldn't even have mentioned it. So I left them on the table and came back the next day.
ZeosPanteraOK, if you're still wearing them today, then I'll have to revise what I said:
Zeos thinks these are ASTONISHING? Cool, just like everything else he listens to.
There we go.
natefariousi have the rbh and holy shit the sub bass is powerful without taking anything away from the detail. listening to the hotline Miami soundtrack really shows the amount of bass these cans can pull off. plus they are comfy.
chuckolatteyeah it bothers me a lot, but after awhile you kind of forget it is there. i really love my pair for gaming and listening to edm while writing. they work pretty well for some metal and rock as long as the source is of good quality
