Are we able to sell bags made from this pattern, or is it strictly personal use?

Menolly07Hi @Menolly07, That is a good question. Let me check in with the vendor and see what info they have on this.

Menolly07I have heard back from C&T Publishing and the short answer is no. The long answer is Yes if you are doing it to benefit a non-profit or charity. You can read about it here: http://www.ctpub.com/permission-requests/

SandyLucasWonderful, thank you. I'm fiercely careful with pattern ownership by the original Creator. It's frustrating when you create something and have it copied.

SandyLucasActually, they can't tell you that you can't sell the bags you make. They can only tell you that you can't sell or share the pattern.

MizWasyPerhaps from a legal standpoint. However, I have seen lots of pattern creators say that they are selling a pattern for personal use not for sale of the end production item. It's the same as purchasing a dress made by a designer, taking it apart and then using the dress as a pattern to repro and sell.
The right thing to do isn't always protected by law. Purchasing a design and selling copies based on another person's intellectual property, even if that property isn't protected by law, is extremely unethical. I respect creators too much to do so.
