Is the micro-usb purely for charging, or can you game over it also?

ChuckDeeYou can game with it too. Use Power+R1 to power the controller up in X360 emulation mode, plug in the USB cable after it's on and viola, the controller appears to the PC like an Xbox 360 controller with all the buttons mapped and working correctly.
