I got this the last time and after using for a bit, I feel like I should give some input. First of all, I expected it to feel like the SNES controller that it was (mostly) modeled from. It feels significantly tighter. The ABXY buttons are smaller and closer together than I was expecting and the dpad is smaller. It also rocks a bit, meaning Up sometimes becomes UpRight if your mashing some button on your right hand and your hand gets a bit skewed. It's not that bad unless you are playing a game super sensitive to dpad movement.
I am using on a RetroPie setup. I thought it would work awesome, but even after installing the 8Bitdo controller info from the bluetooth setup, it takes a while to register bluetooth. I find myself leaving the thing on all the time to fix this issue. Also, I noticed that when the controller wasn't responding, it would work if I would just plug it in USB. Well, by the time the controller configuration was complete, the bluetooth magically started working again, so it would double press (once for USB, once for bluetooth) as if it were two separate controllers.
This all may seem petty, but there is a significant customer base of RetroPie users 8Bitdo is basing their marketing on and I found it much more frustrating than it should have been.
I will say that the lights are nice and the box and packaging was well above par. I wouldn't be surprised if a former apple packaging engineer works for them...
