Massdrop was never the place to go to for timely delivery. That being said, this drop is taking oddly long. I'm not posting this comment to defend Massdrop in the current situation it is in, but I wanted to at least let people know that it is not usually like this, and that this is an outlier in the many drops I've participated in.

ZALHERAThat may be true but why not compensate us in some way for our patience. The current stance Massdrop is taking won't persuade their customers to want to come back and order more stuff. I would be ordering way more stuff if it weren't for this one outlier that I just happened to land in. It's also a little aggravating that they are fulfilling orders in reverse order. Did they just not notice that that was what was happening? Or did they just not care?

ZALHERAYeah, maybe you can help me with this but this is my first Massdrop order and I don't really see the value when compared to something like, say, Amazon. I mean with this controller specifically, I could have paid $8.76 more for the exact same thing here (http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Controller-Classic-Joystick/dp/B018K3Q4KS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1461851464&sr=8-1&keywords=8bitdo) and 1) I'd probably already have it and 2) I wouldn't have to keep checking back here because Amazon sends updates via e-mail (crazy concept, right)?

okkamActually you totally get emails from Massdrop as you would from Amazon...for the most part. When I get an email from Massdrop it will be about 1) new drops 2) purchase/shipping status 3) discussion comments added by admin/replies
Wasn't sure if you were saying MD does that or not. Jus throwing that out there. Also mine arrived this past Friday.

kingofpballIn my opnion, it isn't fair for Massdrop to take the fall for the shortcomings of their supplier. I don't think it is realistic to ask for something like a $5 credit for everyone who was inconvenienced in this drop.

okkamSome drops are more attractive than others. For example, the Massdrop exclusive products are nice. Or some hard to find products, like the Bungbox inks. There are also some that have bigger savings than $8. Again, Massdrop is not the place for timely deliveries, but it does open up opportunities for rare novelty items or some super deals here and there. Simply put, there is more value in getting half off the usual price of, say, a Lamy 2000 here than $8 on this controller for example.
Massdrop does email me updated, not sure why you say that they don't. It might be your settings somewhere.

ZALHERAIt's totally understandable that there have been delays. This was a far more popular item than they were anticipating.
The problem that we're having is that they went out of their way to say that transactions would be filled starting with those who joined the drop first. Then, the people who joined the drop before it was re-opened were skipped.
I've noticed that, typically, drops aren't re-opened until the previous instance of the drop is fully shipped out. It seems like there was a systemic issue with the drop "completing" and then re-opening. It's as if their system thinks the re-opened part of the drop is the only part that is currently active. Another symptom of this is the original members of the drop not receiving email updates.
I'm concerned that there may be a logistical error that has not yet been corrected.
The other problem is that the first problem isn't being acknowledged at all. It would be nice to be reassured that the first group will still be receiving their items. If this is a systemic issue, and no one at MD has noticed it, then we may get skipped over until we leave the discussion thread and start actually contacting their support staff directly (or until they notice that they have an extra 150 controllers).

twinsAh, I see. I was not aware of this. I was also in the first 150, but finals have kept me from keeping up with the situation here. I thought it was merely about the wait times and lack of updates.
