If anyone can confirm that THIS 8bitdo controller works with the old NES/SNES (via the additional wireless adapter that goes into the system) I would be happy to place an order (also preferably would like to see massdrop sell the actual adapter aswell, since those cost almost the same price as 1 controller).

Does anyone know if this device can pair with a Wii? I'm running homebrew channel with a host of SNES classics on an emulator. The Wii Classic Controllers pair with it just fine, but those are connected to a standard Wiimote. This looks like an even cooler option if it could work.
Compton
These can pair as a Wiimote, and as Pro Controller on Wii U.
cohii
Confirming this. Got a pair of these for myself and my roommate, here's our experience so far for any future buyers:
First off, the build quality is excellent. They feel slightly heavier than the traditional SNES controller and slightly thicker (because these have an internal chargeable battery), but they are incredibly comfortable and responsive. The d-pad, start/select, ABXY, and shoulder buttons all feel crisp and familiar.
Second, these work best as a standard bluetooth device. Turning it on in bluetooth mode, it was instantly picked up by our Steam Link and was very responsive. We were also able to easily pair them both with a smartphone and use them as controllers for some mobile games. My roommate has an NES emulator on his phone that it worked smoothly with.
Third, after upgrading the firmware from the 8Bitdo website (pretty simple on Mac or PC), we were able to get them to work with both the WiiU and the Wii. This requires a lot of patience, however, and I'm still not really sure what we did to get them to work when they did. After several attempts hitting sync between the two devices, they eventually just found each other; WiiU took less attempts than Wii. Playing Super Mario RPG on Virtual Console on WiiU was perfect once we got them paired, though! Using them with the Wii required syncing a WiiMote first, then the controller, then swapping Player 1 and Player 2 from the Wii's controller menu, then going into Homebrew Channel to play. Definitely a hassle, but doable.
That system is actually 16bit!...
I got a wired snes controller made by a company called buffalo for 15 bucks on amazon. It also has the ability to apply a turbo function to any button at will... Probably not as high quality, but still... Something to think about.
Sir_Swagelot
Can confirm. Got a pair of the Buffalo controllers for my retropie and they are actually really well built with great D-Pad and buttons. Best price/performance for SNES USB controllers out there.
How good is the dpad on this? I ask because I recently bought the 8Bitdo NES30 Pro (https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Controller-Classic-Joystick/dp/B01DM1VY6W/), and the dpad on that is NOT acceptable.
Here's a fast and easy way to check, if someone wants to do this for me: Load up Contra 3 on your favorite SNES emulator. Try playing the first level. To survive, you have to lie prone a lot. On poorly made dpads, it is easy to accidentally switch from D to DR on the dpad, causing your dude to get up and start running (with his gun pointed diagonally down). This will generally get you killed fast.
The original SNES gamepad did not have this issue, obviously. The 8BitDo NES30 Pro failed this test. Playstation gamepads pass the test. The new xbone gamepad also passes the test (about frickin time you made a useable dpad, Microsoft).
Since this is the same maker, I have to assume the worst. But if someone wants to test it out for real, I (and other people who care about having a gamepad that is actually viable for retro gaming) will be grateful.
Anyone know if this will work with the Xbox One S?
Would this work with a Raspberry Pi?

C.H.I.P. 9$ computer has built in Bluetooth. You could make that into an emulator machine and pair it with this for a 30$ Retro gaming machine.
Any chance we can get the SFC30 added as an option. They are the same price.
M_at_o
Also waiting for SFC30...
Gawd the nostalgia! Pair this puppy with a computer running a SNES emulator and let the good times roll!
It'd be cool if this had some sort of a phone clip attachment.
Salador
it does have a phone clip! it's a seperate product tho.
Ooooh. Already have the NES30 Pro and regular NES30 but might get this one too for that authentic SNES action.
