Beware: These controllers have significant issues with latency/button travel that is essentially a design issue.
Games such as super mario, platforms, fighting games can be almost unplayable due to the delay when pressing the button to the command issuing.
Using one of the SFC30s with my phone mates certain games impossible. No such issues with other Bluetooth controllers like the 'drone'.
This includes being on the newest firmware and with only Bluetooth enabled.

TeliosI live in Japan and have owned this for about a year and a half. yes. The BT sucks. Super laggy. Plugged in as USB it works fine. Oh well.

MluczkowIt really annoys me, because I bought an SFC30 because I like the form factor for travelling and because you can get a clip to attach your phone to, but its irrelevant if you can't actually play half your games with it...

TeliosYeah I just end up sticking with wired Buffalo brand controller and use my laptop. Looks exactly the same as this SNES controller. 8 bucks.

MluczkowThat Buffalo controller is the tits. Inexpensive and works perfectly. My 8bitdo controller is shit, and wired is not an option since it only works on Windows. The lag would be tolerable if it didn't suffer so many disconnections, completely unreliable performance.

Mario.PaulI only have linux systems and android and haven't had an incompatibility issues with the wired method (nor BT) of the 8bitdo controller, only the appalling lag.

MluczkowJust tried again to give it the benefit of doubt. To my surprise, it appeared on the Retroarch prompt and it worked-- for 10 seconds. Removing and reconnecting made it show up for a few seconds, but now it's not even being recognized. Yep, this controller is still shit.
The "windows USB cable mode" as it's called in the manual doesn't state compatibility with other systems so I imagine that is the problem. ALL my other USB devices work perfectly no matter how many times I disconnect and reconnect, even the cheapest $10 USB retro clones.
Stay away from this controller if you want reliability.

Teliosyikes, thanks for the heads up. I had only heard good things about 8bitdo and loved their designs. Hopefully they get their shit together in time for the SFC30pro release, otherwise I'll hold off..
