i haven't seen any mention if a bluetooth receiver is included? considering this is a bluetooth device, i would expect that one is.

leogunNope, you need Bluetooth on your device. These are commonly used with Android tablets/phones and the raspberry pi 3 (for RetroPie) and work fine without needing a receiver. When's the last time you ordered a BT device that came with a receiver? Keyboards, mice, headsets, and peripherals haven't done that.. well, ever that I can remember.

epsilon748My office ordered a stock of BT mice+keyboards and they each came with their own receivers. But fair point on these controllers being for tablets (which come with BT native). I have a receiver already, I just wanted to be sure.

epsilon748Actually, keyboards, mice, and headsets all ship with a receiver unless they are designed for phone/tablet use.

Epic_EnkiduMost of those are RF 2.4ghz receivers, not Bluetooth. Most Bluetooth accessories assume you have Bluetooth already.
