Looks like the channels protect the knife edges from banging into the other blades? Well that’s good.
I'm not too thrilled about the look of it, however. Too big, blocky, and conspicuous for my small kitchen.
I think a narrower, maybe slightly longer form factor that‘s not so metallic looking would get me much more interested.
