tessierpgThey say it goes down to 45Hz but they publish a frequency response graph on their website which shows that below about 90HZ the dB's fall off a cliff. Which is still pretty good for a speaker this size but the 45Hz number is marketing fluff... it may produce detectable noise at the frequency, but only just barely. Nothing this size will really go down to 45Hz, even decent bookshelf speakers don't go that low really, you need something floorstanding or a 8" or larger subwoofer. $10 discount off a thing which hasn't been independently reviewed yet, with suspect specifications, from a brand that's unproven in the market, doesn't give me a reason to jump.

AckattackerI goofed: I confused the AR (Acoustic Research) brand with Audio Research, which is the high end brand. Sorry

tessierpgwikipedia says that the AR brand has bounced from AR to Jensen to Recoton and now Audiovoxx. So it's a brand name company but no guarantee an AR branded products today bear any resemblance to AR products of the past.

AckattackerYou may be right. Maybe AR is not what it used to be. Nevertheless it would be nice to have some feedback from users of this little soundbox

AckattackerI owned a pair of AR-2ax speakers back in the day. I had them rebuilt (woofer surround etc) and to this day they sound awesome!!! My neighbor loves them LOL. But like you said that was very far in the past. No reflection on todays AR products.
