Is that 2TB price a typo? That seems like quite a jump for the size.

luciddreamIt seems it also do your dishes, tells you a story before sleep and cleans your house while you are out...
But seriously, I also think it is a mistake, way to steep of a price.

luciddreamI did the maths, assuming the same price/GB of the 1TB option, the 2TB option should be $380 (+$340)
Jerm1027Except it gets exponentially harder to build more storage into one unit. If possible for your build, it’s better to have multiple drives (perhaps in a RAID configuration)

EvshrugExcept that doesn't explain a discrepancy of this magnitude. The predecessor, the SU 800, the 2TB option is still $330 on Amazon as of this comment. If this was cutting edge technology focused on performance and reliability, that may be loosely justifiable, but both use 3D MLC nand - it's well established technology focused bringing price down. Quite frankly, the drop isn't worth it at all, especially while the predecessor is still on sale; even the base 128GB version of the SU 800 sells for $29. It's kind of bewildering.

Jerm1027It doesn't explain it but that's just storage tech has always worked, you can always buy smaller ones and put them on raid.
