I like Massdrop and have used them for audio gear from time to tim, the JBL LSR 30X is a really nice deal for example, but these prices for the SU900 aren't very appealing or competitive. In fairness it is an MLC so longevity should be better than the TLC drives. For most people it wont really matter , as you likely to move to newer technology before even TLC drives see end of life.
Many 1TB SSD are under $150 at the moment. That 2TB prices is just ridiculous. I recently picked up TWO MX500 2TB (4TB total) for less than the asking fron for a single 2TB SU900.
If you really need MLC maybe, but I think there are other MLC drives that offer a more competitive price. The Mushkin Enhanced Reactor 2TB MLC drive can be had for $338 on Newegg for example. I don't know how the performance cmpares but the Mushkin seems to perform well and less than half the cost for 2TB.
