dreadbullI don't see why it wouldn't, it's just an external drive it'll just need a format like any external drive.

dreadbullYes but don’t expect max read/write speeds. Though 3.0 on PS4 can theoretically get 640 or so MBPS, a lot of real world testing show it have troubles getting past 250 MBPS.

cs85b03I can't imagine getting those theoretical maximums in real world conditions from a single drive over USB 3.1. It'll be pretty fast, but it won't be 1TB every two-seconds fast.

dreadbullHi Dreadbull - I just checked and PS4 has same file format as PS3 for either internal or USB drive reading does so this should apply to you since PS4 requires "FAT32" format on a volume (Or partition) So by default the Drive Won't work with ps4 since 256GB, 512Gb, 1TB are default format NTFS .
Work around - how to adjust format to be PS4 compatible. TWO Options (Either Complete Single FAT32 Drive using a tool called 'FAT32 Format'. (and optional Multiple (Volumes\Partitions) all fat32 , or Other option Split MIXED Fat32\NTFS (Volumes\Partitions) on the single drive to allow NTFS drive for windows only, and other FAT32 Drive to be View-able by the PS4. Here is how to try to do this :) You will need to follow and review these instructions I have tried to split this to help you easier. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Option ONE if you only own a PS4 and don't need or want to use the larger drive on windows ("Only doing FAT32 single drive")

So this guide will let you get whole drive to FAT32 with the tool they link to. You May optionally want to split up the drive into multiple partitions so the PS4 can easily see the Volumes\Partitions see example you may want 10 20GB partitions for various games on PS4. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Option TWO If you own PS4 and Windows Pc and want to use the drive with both devices. Which Makes maximum use of larger USB C drive like this one is. (Separate Volume\Partitions) One NTFS Volume (compatible with windows) and Making Second FAT32 Volume (Compatible with PS4) So say you only needed 40GB for PS4 and wanted rest of the remaining 180GB that would probably be 'usable' after the format process, to be used on windows. You would follow below link to instructions, and set the 'FAT32' for the 40GB Volume and set 'NTFS' For the 180GB Volume. ClemulusOf course. I just checked online and so far everything I find shows same story on Xbox and Xbox 360 and Xbox One USB hard drives all need to be fat32 so you can use same guides. 😊 I am surprised by this myself since Xbox is so close to PC hardware side.
