This drop is just awful. I feel truly terrible for anyone who purchases this.

Here is the real performance difference between this product and good competitors and their current prices. Keep in mind, prices on SSD's fluctuate a lot. This is currently not a good deal compared to the Samsung products. No mystery about it, it doesn't have higher endurance, and it is not faster. Adata XPG SX950 3D MLC NAND SSD at $329.99 800 TBW endurance with max read 560MB/s, write 530MB/s SAMSUNG 860 EVO Series 2.5" 1TB SATA III V-NAND 3-bit MLC Internal SSD at $147.99 (Marked down form $169.99) 600 TBW endurance with max read of 550MB/s, write 520MB/s SAMSUNG 860 Pro Series 2.5" 1TB SATA III 3D NAND SSD at $297.95
1200 TBW endurance with max read 560MB/s, write 530MB/s It would seem that Samsung's Pro series is still king in all categories for this form factor. However, gen 3 NVMe M.2 SSD's are much faster and still cost less for 1TB than this drop. For example: SAMSUNG 960 EVO M.2 1TB NVMe PCI-Express 3.0 x4 Internal SSD at $299 600 TBW endurance with max read 3200 MB/s, write 1900 MB/s.

Apparently no one can read: this is MLC not TLC memory. It is going to use more chips per storage quantity, have higher endurance, and possibly be faster. But if you didn't know that you probably aren't in the market for this drive. https://youtu.be/I9mbZUI0J3A

Massdrop is supposed to be about deals, not just buying something at retail or over market cost haha. the SSD market is volatile right now, everything's dropping, some brands are ahead of the curve. I would love to hear anyone's use case argument for needing MLC over TLC that justifies paying double the price of a TLC drive, you could buy two TLC drives...... go buy a Samsung 860 Pro, last chance I checked the Pro line is MLC and it will only run you about $430(on sale) on a TLC drive you can rewrite a block like somewhere between 3000-5000 times....no consumer is going to do that....maybe before they die.

Atomkinder3D Nand MLC is common today in SSD, yes slightly less performance than MLC. Still MLC is not SLC.. IMO doesn't make sense to get one of these when you can for half the price get a WD 1TB SSD with 3 year warranty. 1.75 MTBF and 400TB write endurance.. Most common usage would mean several years past 3 year warranty and it still would work.. Nevertheless, 400 Terabyte write endurance for a storage for average user would mean 10+ years. Unless you move files all day long back and forth and delete, normal users wouldn't need more. This is not a value IMO.

Why? Just why. Are people actually buying this? I bought a 2TB Samsung EVO for 375 over 3 months ago from Amazon and they want 330 for a 1TB and some ungodly amount more for 2TB? Massdrop seeming kinda scammy at this point. smh

Too much money when you can get less expensive models from ADATA and other SSD manufacturers. I've never used an ADATA SSD before and have wanted to try one but for this much money I'd rather go with a samsung SSD. Samsung SSDs Performance and reliability are on par for the course for a 2.5" SSD. Show us some less expensive ADATA XPG SSDs. At least at amazon.com I can get an SSD and have 30 days return no questions asked. Not to mention the factory warranty. I have been using the Samsung 860 EVO SSD for two years without complaints. Easy Installation and migration. I'd still like to try the ADATA but I can't float this price/performance ratio.

I love Massdrop but they make the mistake of:
  1. promoting far too many ‘deals’ which aren’t really deals
  2. harass you with daily emails about questionable stuff
Far too little signal, far too much noise.
