TBW?? How much??
The SX950U 960GB for $112 is a good price, especially since it comes with a good controller, cache, and Micron NAND., and the warranty, IF the warranty is good. This appears to be a mainly EU model.
JakCrow
It’s +$112 so it comes out to $149.99

As I already replied to someone else, that makes it just average then. It gets good reviews, it has Micron NAND and a good controller and it's not the older SX950 someone thought it was, but if it's grey market from the EU there may be no warranty
Maybe there's 50+ people with a system that's entirely XPG themed. You never know. Seriously, the aesthetics aren't even that good and they're the only reason I could see someone purchasing this when they know how to search for price:performance.
Massdrop this is a really disappointing price point. I come to this site for good deals, not to see people getting ripped off. Fix this, please.

In that case, while not horrible, it's completely average and there's no point in getting it via massdrop and risking having no warranty when it turns out the drive is only sold in the EU.

Normally I don't leave comments but this was just so disappointing to see. I can get a 1tb wd blue m.2 ssd from Newegg right now for $149.99. The ssd market is in a steep decline as well, nows the time for truly great deals. Not this bullshit.
How does this compare to the 860 EVO?

The SX950 (without the U) is last year's model.
I’m not sure you looked up the right ssd. the name is slightly different, so make sure first.
What makes this a “gaming” SSD?

Most of the time it is a sticker or some weird coloring. They never do something, just look at the "gaming" chairs, cheap material and awful colors.

Yeah, it’s often obvious that the only thing “gaming“ about a product is that it’s a color too gaudy to use in normal stuff. Sometimes there are actual differences, though (input devices come to mind... a joystick doesn’t do much for websites), and other times the differences are more to do with a part generally being higher performance.
This is a RIP off evos or anything with MLC are better and cheaper. What the hell massdrop?
why buy this when you can buy something newer, better and cheaper like the 860 EVO or the Crucial MX500

Oh thats harsh
