I've got a pair of the Black/Black/Vista Grey in men's 11 that don't fit. Looking to resell them. I'm trying to get close to the drop price plus shipping. I'm in Canada, so Canadians hit me up to avoid the ridiculous duties ($43?!). Send an email to billperry110@gmail.com and I'll send a PayPal memo. Thanks.
Goretex has its pros and cons. The membrane is warm and keeps water out. But it also keeps water in. So on cold and/or rainy days it's helpful. But on warm, sunny days, it's not so comfortable. It's also good for places with a lot of shallow, standing water. But as someone mentioned, the shoe will be very uncomfortable if water gets in. So imo, Goretex is best for high tops and non-Goretex for low tops.
kflyLooks like non GTX - so that's good. I dislike GTX shoes - especially in wet conditions because they're going to get wet anyway and GTX takes longer to dry. This shoe has a 6.5mm drop witha neutral fit which seems good for me. It is slightly on the heavy side at 12.5 oz. but that's not a huge issue.
kflyive had the gtx for a while now and i love them. they do not get wet unless you submerge them. they take longer to dry than lightweight non-waterproof, breathing running shoes though.
Basically, if you live in a an area that isnt really hot and humid they're great. if you do, sandals, or super light shoes (in which case you don't actually care if they're waterproof anyway).
If you live in a really cold area (much below freezing), they're also too cold.
Everything else in between, the GTX rocks.
VespaUnfortunately, the GTX versions are sold out until July. This shoe is a very versatile fit - the upper uses a seamless construction, so the shoe is able to grip a variety of foot shapes without creating hot-spots.
perfect fit out of the box. put about 5 miles on them this afternoon running in the hills. very satisfying purchase. SOLID shoe. I wear a 9.5 and am generally considered narrow and low-volume feet...Adidas have consistently fit me in this size across several lines and through several decades so this was a no-brainer. Can't wait to put some more miles on them. Can definitely see doing some hiking with these too. Yea shoes!
As much as I would like to try these shoes, I am afraid that even the 15s might be too small for me, and I doubt I could return them if that was the case. I have never had luck with Adidas shoes, aside from size 15 Superstar 2s.
