Bought a pair of the AX2R (black/black) last year on Massdrop to wear as my daily shoes. The Goretex on them has actually been super nice, not needing to worry about shallow puddles/snow. The only issue is that the tread has not lasted particularly well on these, at least not wearing them every day. While these are tempting - the Goretex models do tend to get hotter than I would like in the summer - the ability to just not worry about water in my daily shoes is worth the trade-off, IMO.
Are these waterproof or not? The header for the description states "waterproof", but not a mention of Gore-tex, E-Vent, etc. in the specs. Is this an error due to slack proofreading?
The color and size I wanted is unavailable. After a little digging online found them cheaper with my size and color option I wanted. Also they will arrive at my house the 9th of April as a bonus...
Just got these in from the last drop.
I can confirm that Adidas sizing runs half a size out from any other brand I'm familiar with. With NB, 5.10, Asolo, La Sportiva, Trezeta I am US8.5. With the Terrex, I am wearing 9 and they still feel a tiny bit shorter than my usual shoes.
They are also narrow across the forefoot. Not a problem for me, but something for others to be aware of.
Regarding questions about waterproofness. These are not the GTX version, they are highly breatheable so great for hot weather. Which is why I bought them- I did not want 'waterproof' shoes that just get wet from the inside because Goretex can't breathe faster than I sweat.
