Unit arrived in excellent shape. Still early but sounding mighty fine. Goosebumps already.

gabu840Early impression hooked to my HD800S and Yggdrasil: Compared to my Jotunheim which I use in full balance mode, the Heron is more holographic, 3 dimensional. The soundstage sounds a bit farther and less in my head, so more speaker-like than the Jot. Presentation is very real and natural. Music flows beautifully. In contrast, the Jot hits harder and has more slam. Micro-details are more pronounced. I’d say the Jot makes me sit up and listen while the Heron makes me sit back and enjoy.

AnyfiNice let there be some burn-in of around 100 hrs , and see if changes to sound is there.

gabu840Yes, the Jot. Very detailed and textured in full balance mode. Can be too in-yourface for forward sounding recordings. Hence many reports that Jot is bright.

gabu840It’s awesome. Loving it even more. Can‘t get over how 3 dimensional the soundstage is for Heron. Clean precise instrument separation front to back. The Jot feels like 2 dimensional in comparison.
