I liked this amp so much that I bought it from Airist Audio straight out of the review tour, concurrently they lowered the price to to $849 for Canjam SoCal, but that would have required $190 shipping to the UK. I feel bad for anyone who bought this at the Canjam price if this reaches $749, and especially bad if any Europeans bought this with the Canjam special and paid their shipping price. If those folks exist, they should be refunded the difference in costs. That would be the ethical thing to do. The new lower price did take some of the lustre off my purchase. It is effortless with a big soundstage and super clean natural instrumentation. It doesn't work well with IEMs, it will make a humming noise on most of them and the impedance of either of the front jacks is not advertised. I've never heard the HD800 sound as good. I never wanted to buy the HD800 after listening sessions on a wide variety of other amps, but with this amp, it feels like you need it. The HifiMan HE6 and the AKG K1000 also sounded amazing out of this. The HD600 has never sounded as good out of any amplifier I've played it out of, and I've played it out of the Schiit Ragnarok and some high end tube amps like the Feliks Audio Elise. This amp is a champ. For those criticizing the lack of fully balanced, stop it! Fully balanced is the latest fad, but it doesn't mean that this amp doesn't beat many fully balanced set-ups. Also, many of the balanced amps out there are single-ended on the inside, they just have a balanced jack on the front. Know what you are getting into and listen to the amp. That other cited reviewer is crazy, this amp is anything but soft. I'll be writing up my review soon. Watch out for glassmonkey on Head-Fi.
