Momma always told me if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. But I can't help myself, this keyboard is just plain ugly, and I don't like it.
Wolfgang_Bach
It looks like it's supposed to be a Fisher Price keyboard
I don't get it, why is the mouse stick in the middle of the space bar instead of between G/H and B keys like on ThinkPads, which seems like a much more natural position next to your index finger along the homerow
Has anyone seen this with different keycaps? Maybe a split space bar?
ashiraki
As much as I love the idea of a mouse control on a mechanical keyboard, especially at this price, but this looks like a keyset nightmare. Chances are you can't change that red piece, and, in addition to all the "normally non-standard" keys (1.25u arrows, /?, and shift), that space bar is gonna require a sawsall. The Tex is great, but expensive, and limited switch options (or requires building). Let's see a budget, knock-off Tex at $120 and I'm in.
Can someone who owns this plase comment on what the general feel of the joystick is like. For instance, is it soft? tight? springy? I am dying to touch this, I need someone to tell me if I will be disappointed. P.S I don't care if it actually works I am only concered with the tactile sensation from the joy stick

You don't care if it works? what are you going to do to this keyboard

eh... does it say "made for ficher-price" someplace at the back? =/
How to change Red Stick Function to Game Mode: Direction Control?
Hey guys - also trying to get the joystick to work - the joystick being a mouse was the primary reason I bought this peripheral. Is it confirmed that the only way to get it working is downloading and running a shady exe from some chinese google drive link?
devook
Shady is the name of the game with a lot of mechanical keyboards. If you aren't downloading EXEs from Dropbox or visiting IP addresses to run flash applets, what are you even doing?
Found this.

Just received mine. Windows doesn't recognize it when plugged in to USB. Manual is not in English and I haven't been able to find any instructions on how to set the board up. When plugged in it does a pretty light show, that's about it. Ajazz website has drivers for download, also not in English, driver exe terminates with an error as soon as it's run. I don't know what to do with this keyboard now.

Any chance you could upload that file to google drive? I've tried all the tricks on that forum thread and none seem to work anymore.
Does anyone know how the "dot mouse" works?
Is it a force sensor like track points? Or is it a (bad) mini-joystick that measures offset instead?
So is this going to be compatible with other keycaps? If so, what stem?
Lefibonacci
Looks like standard cherry steams but obviously there are certain keys you won't be able to replace
Lefibonacci
The stems are slightly smaller than normal so most aftermarket keycap sets will be super loose. Big deal breaker for me.
Warning bluetooth 3.0. this is not a keyboard you would want to do anything that requires lots of rapid precisely timed key presses hence no gaming the lag on this will be astronomical. if this was 4.0 would be a different case.
AntonyFarag
Even if wired?
Deuel
Somehow i doubt that this uses the high quality 1000 or even 500 poling rate connection. it might be ok for an office on the go type keyboard with a tablet or ipad or to at least replace that god awful mac book keyboard
Do i see it right? Fn key in the top right corner??? What were they thinking about during the design?
myyrddraal
I didn't even notice that - I was too put off by the arrow key to the left of right shift. :( I wish they made their stuff programmable.
As someone who uses the right little finger to activate the Shift key, this layout is disastrous.
Edit: Spotted another issue, Win key and Alt key are switched around. Seriously, who designs these things?
yslee
It is where this key is on mac keyboards. I assume you can change it by flipping the mode switch and swapping the keys.
yslee
I have the Ajazz AK33 and the shift key is awful
was in until I saw no cherry option. I know nothing about ajazz switches

@subadanus Well, I'll admit now that I've had more hands on time and spoke with many people, the general consensus (and my opinion) is that yes, Cherry tends to have scratchy switches (particularly reds for me) and I personally prefer Gateron over Cherry, so far as the more common switches go. I currently am using Outemu Ice Purples which I am enjoying, and currently working on a build with dampened and lubed Gateron reds. I stand corrected.
Lefibonacci
if you like gateron reds, give kailh speed silver a shot, i found it to be just a bit better than gateron
So is the trackpoint actually usable? I am looking to replace my Thinkpad BT keyboard for HTPC use ... would this do it or would I be better off with something else?
I'm surprised the description doesn't talk more about the trackpoint / touchmouse in the middle of the spacebar, but goes out of its way to mention it uses Ajazz switches
Anybody happen to have information on the materials and construction? Obviously the Shell is made of plastic, but the semi-concealed switches intrigue me with how it's built and what the relatively unique design makes it sounds like.
Also: more colors and switches available on the Chinese buying sites, notably Cherry switches and all of the pink/blue colors (blue not available on this drop) having Kailh Black box switches instead of White.
Eat this, Tex Yoda II.

made my day =D
if only had brown switches :/ also that description "What’s more, it’s outfitted with AJAZZ mechanical switches, just like you’d find on other mechanical keyboards." wrong community to try and plug that sales pitch
Pretty cool idea but I would want something that uses qmk
Grizzly_teddy
Yeah. I'd be on this so fast if it was programmable.
I read someone's review on GearBest or something, said the red dot does not really work as a mouse, instead the only use for it at the moment is when you are customizing it. Wonder if that is true?
FYI, the same keyboard, with immediate (within 10 days) and considerably cheaper shipping (MD quoted me at 24$ for S&H), is available from GearBest, for 81.35$:

You know what's really annoying about this? This is a decently cool device, except someone made the dumb choice to make the arrow key cluster 1.25 or 1.5u size - everything else except the spacebars are standard.
But wow, "What’s more, it’s outfitted with AJAZZ mechanical switches, just like you’d find on other mechanical keyboards." is an absurd selling point

I'm confused, a keyboard is a tool, people can buy it because it suits them. I personally would've been interested if not for the one issue with the layout.
yslee
A keyboard is a tool, sure. But that doesn't mean people do not collect, build, modify, and update them as a hobby.
