“The Best Possible Sound for Travel”

With the AK380 digital music player, Astell&Kern continues to deliver accurate, natural sound with the advanced features audiophiles want. The sleek, angled body is made of aircraft-grade duralumin, an aluminum alloy, while the back is made of carbon fiber with a holographic finish. Among the user-friendly controls are a volume knob, a power button, and buttons that let you skip songs, go back, and pause. This DAP is equipped with dual highly regarded AKM AK4490 DAC chips, and features a balanced 2.5-millimeter output and a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack. Audio Advice says, “The AK380 offers the best possible sound for travel. Additionally, you’ll enjoy the superior ergonomic design that makes even holding the player in your hand a pleasant experience.”

Note: With your DAP, you'll get a burgundy leather case ($40 value); a second leather case in your choice of burgundy, charcoal, or navy ($40 value); and a glass screen protection kit ($30 value).

The Reviews Are In

The Absolute Sound  has this to say: "With the AK380, Astell&Kern has created a flagship that transcends the genre of audiophile-quality portable players. Never, to my knowledge, has such a device incorporated features and parts comparable to those found in the best high-end components. And never, in my experience, has a portable device delivered sound so uncannily similar to that of the best high-end systems. But the AK380 goes beyond delivering superb sound. Thanks to a set of clever peripherals, this player can serve as the digital front end in any audio system. Combine all that with generous storage, a large, bright display and next-generation resolution, and the AK380 becomes the portable player to beat."
