How are these for noise isolation -- eg on a plane? (and versus noise cancelling headphones)

Mike_WIthe Bose QC35 are perfect for those, they cancel out the plane cabin noise - I've tried my ATH M50X, it didn't do as a good job as the QC35.

calebv59Here's the question: "How are these for noise isolation -- eg on a plane? (and versus noise cancelling headphones)"
Key: "and versus noise cancelling headphones"
Get it? He wasn't asking the matter of price - if he did, he would've asked. Please read properly next time.
There are other ANC headphones / headset - they do not cancel out cabin noise.

GeraltMike_WI clearly asked about K182, not M50x by any stretch. Please read properly next time.
He wants to know how well it independently isolates one from the environment, in addition to how well it fares versus ANC. Like you pointed out: Key: "and versus noise cancelling headphones"
I don't think it will compete with a good ANC set. But no one is answering his question yet on how well K182 isolates on its own, though. I sure haven't heard K182... yet.

Valensilius_ZephyrusMy apologies, I've come under the impression that people knew that the K182 are comparable to the M50X - both are near the similar price range for MSRP; also the performance are quite similar. In my opinion, the K182 has better bass than the M50X - it's an impressive headset worth it for the price. In terms of noise cancellation (via no sound is obviously poor), for noise cancellation in a plane it will not cancel out the plane cabin noise. You're better off with an IEM for example Shure SE215 for cancelling out cabin noise; if that is you cannot afford the Bose QC35 which in my opinion has the best ANC available at the moment.
