GUTBActually, i think your completely off mistaken and off-bass. I understand these are high fidelity headphones. Would you offer here some examples what you consider high fidelity headphones?

CaizSure. Examples of hi-fi headphones would be the TH-900, HE-1000, HD800, T1, SR009, Utopia, LCD-X.
Lo-fi doesn't mean they are horrible like $10 Wal-Mart ear buds, its just a label for lower-end audio gear.

GUTBYour comments are about as helpful as me going onto a forum about 2017 Nissan 370Zs and saying "It's a decent low budget sports car for a decent price" and then when asked about alternatives I reference $250,000+ Ferrari's and Lamborghini.
Why don't you just come straight out and say "Well, for you poor plebeians that will only spend $120 on headphones I guess it's OK but we elite wouldn't corrupt our ears with anything less than $1,000 cans"
Then the rest of us could laugh at you for actually blowing that kind of money on headphones.

Rochambeaux.....hi-fi starts at around $1000. I just commented that the K553 is a lo-fi headphone. The difference between lo-fi and mid-fi ($300-900) is often described as night-and-day, mind-blowing, astounding, etc. Hi-fi is another leap beyond that.

GUTBHi-fi does not start around $1000 it starts at whatever is made with good quality components in it that might even be something that's worth $100

GUTB My six-year-old and eight-year-old children even know you don't always get good stuff because it's expensive just because it shows good on paper but you're human ear cannot hear it is it worth the extra money to brag to people that you have what you consider hi-fi
You will not agree on the statement but I'm sure many people that have been reading your posts agree more with what I'm saying then you're arrogant spoiled bullshit

FergyHi-fi is defined by the sound, of course. The sound takes a high level of design, technology and part quality to achieve. The cost of the sound is currently around $1,000-$4,000. Lo-fi headphones like these make severe compromises for the sake of cost.

Fergybeginning to think a lot of these "audiophiles" are like those snooty wine connoisseurs that go on and on about $800/bottle wines.

GUTBWould you make the same argument for $500 "IEMs"? Unless there's some very restricted, uber nano technology involved, creating headphones doesn't really qualify as rocket science.

GUTBArtificial set parameter for those that have more $$$ than sense, sound is in the ears of the listener, NOT some "expert" that thinks just because the specs say so it's gotta be so...We liken ourselves to believe in something because it's either hyped or if its expensive it's gotta be worth it...really? "Audiophile" is a not a bonified scientific specialty, just an expression of someone that enjoys good sound...

XpfreakIf you value sound, then it definitely is worth your while to get off the class warfare kick, and check out some hi-fi at a local high end audio dealer. You just might find that your budget priorities will change.

GUTBNo dice, common sense always prevails over the siren song of a sales pitch, maybe not for the ones with more money than sense, since opinions are like a**holes, we all have 'em. Not class warfare, perspective with experience and a brain to make common sense decisions.

XpfreakI speak from experience. I actually own the K553...and the TH900, HE-6 and Utopia. I have owned the HD600, HE-400S and others in the past. When I say the K553 is lo-fi, I know exactly what it is I speak of.

GUTBEveryone has their own opinion. And everyone has different taste in music. When you say, this is the standard that everyone should be listening at, and if not, you're a peasant, you're classifying people that A. Don't have the thousands of dollars you speak of, or B. Have already found something good for way less, which I think makes you salty. 😂 I currently own a pair of Sony MDR-950BT's and they work fine, little heavy, but it suits my needs. And I'm currently looking at the MDR-1000X BT's. (See the Sony trend? 😂😂😂)

XpfreakGet off the class warfare kick already. I'm fully aware that men, especially younger men in this generation, tend to just make up their minds to satisfy their own feelings and egos, so I'm essentially talking to myself here. Nevertheless, I hit this thread with some truth and maybe someone will store it as a data point in their beginning audiophile journey.

GUTBNo class warfare kick here, are you suddenly the professor of audiophileness? "younger men in this generation tend to just make up their minds to satisfy their own feelings and egos, so I am essentially talking to myself here. Nevertheless, I hit this thread with some truth and maybe someone will store it as a data point in their beginning audiophile journey." Are you self aggrandizing here? Your foolish post will be quickly glossed over and forgotten by those younger men in this generation that tend to make up their minds to satisfy their own feelings and egos... Have you taken your medication today? For your responses are quite unusual and queer sounding like someone that is living under a rock or schizoid...
