Got mine just now. Fits well, the metal band is kind of thin, you could cut yourself if you apply too much pressure. It's pretty snug, not tight. As far as listening quality, it's a tad short of what I expected (for a MSRP value of $200, I expected something more amazing, even though the drop was at $120). I'm using a Titanium HD with upgraded Op-Amps for a DAC, and an Objective 2 as a headphone amp, while listening to music via Tidal on Chrome. The setup is probably on par with people spending money on this headphone will probably be using. Compared to the AKG K7XX, it pales in comparison, of course. However, comparing it to the Sony MDR-V6 (which can be had for $55 during sales, but typically at $110), it's definitely much better, just not twice-as-much better. It probably just needs breaking in, maybe? When my Grace Design 920 comes in, I'll give it another whirl. It's not something I'll be using for anything but when mixing in audio or music, so until then, back to my AGK K7XX and DT 990 for my listening pleasure.

El_CapitanI have a DT990 too and for listening I'd definitely prefer it, but for mixing, these are almost as flat and "boring" as my Mad Dogs, and lighter and great for that. Definitely replacing my old 240s.

El_CapitanHow does it compare against the M50s? I haven't tried much in the way of high end headphones, so those are about as close as I can come.

HellHatI never owned the M50, just listened to them since my friend has one, and I wasn't impressed. These AKG K553's have a better soundstage, and better bass, but that's not saying much since the M50's were pretty bad in those areas. For $120, these K553's are good. Not great, just good. I don't think I'd recommend it to anyone if it was priced any higher. For $200 (MSRP price), I would not recommend it, and instead push someone towards a NAD VISO HP50 for $250 - $300, especially if there was a sale going on (which is what I'm waiting for).
