So, here are some comments from a non-audiophile. I have problems finding a good, solid set of headphones that fit well and have good sound. I've had v-moda, Bose, and others. Some have been OK, but most have lacked combined comfort and performance. If the headphones aren't comfortable, who wants to wear them no matter how good they sound? I picked these AKG's up based on the overall good comments about sound and comfort. I'm wearing them right now, and barely know they are on my head. The bottom of the span between the headphones rests on my head nicely, and the cups fit over my ears snugly. I wear glasses, and other headphones have always crushed my glasses against my head. These don't, or at least don't do so in a irritating way. I suspect that wearing the headphones for a long period of time will result in sweaty pads, but nothing is perfect.
Overall, I'm pleased with the fit, finish and performance of the headphones. Maybe I'll get to the point where someday I'll wear them out of the house, but I'm not there yet. Next step...try a portable amp.

kpcorbinTry the Philips SPH9500, very big but super comfy to the point where they have almost no clamp. Amazing soundstage due to open back design and excellent representation. Also very easy to drive so even without an amp a good choice. And as a plus the have a standard 3,5 mm connection so you can use whatever cable you like with them including the v-moda boom mic for gaming ;)
