So would these headphones leak a lot? Or are they fine for listening to music in public? Also, are they too power hungry to be driven by an iPhone 6? Thanks.

gstrand99The k7xx are open. The people in the room with you can hear it almost loud as you can and you can hear outside sounds almost as if you didn't have headphones on. They are absolutely not an option for public listening and an iPhone would not come close to driving them adequately. The k553 are closed. Like most closed headphones they do leak a bit, most noticeably at high volumes. The k553 are outstanding for the price as far as closed cans go and CAN be driven by mobile devices. They do sound better with more/higher quality power. I personally am blown away with the k553 even side by siding with the k7xx. I did mod the earcups/pads of the k553 however. If these broke I would immediately replace them with another k553. IMO they are that good. Especially considering price. $120 for these is a joke... In a great way.

gstrand99I own 1 of these. They do not leak much at the volumes I listen at; however, I do find them noticeably hard to drive. Compared driving them with a chord hugo tt, the centrance dacport slim, an audioquest dragonfly v1.2 and my handphone. I'd say the centrance is a bare minimum

phoenixsongInteresting. In my experience, these are rather easy to drive. My desktops' onboard audio solutions (Realtek ALC 892, not very high end boards) powered these cans just fine to my ears. I have the CEntrance DACport Slim, and I don't even need to pass 1/3 of the volume wheel on low gain. And I don't hear any difference between my onboard and DACport Slim and my phone(HTC One M9).

SomeTechNoobHmm, it's probably due to the listening environment. The comparisons I made about drive-ability is not about the volume, but about how well the sound is materialized (for the lack of a better term) through the different sources. They were all made in a quiet listening environment. I do admit that fine differences which seem to be amplified under such circumstances are hardly discernible when brought to the noise-permeated external environment. It may be well for audiophiles to keep that in mind while making their purchases for them to be worthwhile! ^^
