Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

1. Massdrop has already said that the drop ending sooner will not get us the headphones sooner. If anything having a second batch get added means that people will get headphones sooner since I am pretty sure the second batch is going to get here sooner than it was originally planned for due to the demand for the first. Massdrop made a comment about something regarding that but I can't remember where or what exactly was said. 2. Massdrop's wording on exactly when international shipping was canceled is slightly ambiguous, but IIRC from the comments at the time international shipping was canceled at about the time of them posting the update saying that going forward they would be unable to ship internationally. I assume that the confusion arose because they mentioned that in the same update saying that they were adding two thousand more units to this drop. But people were unable to ship internationally before it hit 2000. It was at about 1800 <end IIRC>. It is possible that if Massdrop hadn't made contact with AKG to increase the order number that AKG wouldn't have told them to cancel shipping, but without Massdrop commenting there is no way of knowing (and even then they might not know). Being told to cancel international shipping could have been a completely separate conversation that just happened at a similar time.
According to the graph that was posted earlier, a large majority of the purchasers were in the United states. Unless people in the US decided to boycott the drop because of the international shipping issues, I don't think it had a large enough effect to account for the decrease in purchasing speed that has occurred. I think it might be partly because a much larger than usual portion of people who wanted it joined sooner instead of taking the time to consider it due to the limited nature of the drop, and the very high starting speed because of people wanting to be in the first 250 and the drop having been announced on head-fi in advance. There have been a lot of people canceling, but I don't know the usual rate for that to know if it is larger on this drop. If it is larger that could be because people who were buying it without taking the time to consider it due to reasons above changed there minds, which backs up the previous conjectures. A larger portion of people buying it immediately would mean that fewer people would be left towards the end of the drop. A decrease in the number of people who want the headphones and aren't in the drop, combined with the doubling of quantity could have reduced the sense of urgency to join and made people take time to consider it. That is entirely conjecture and I'm not an economist but I believe that is the cause.
To all of you people complaining about international shipping being canceled: For those of you blaming Massdrop for canceling it, it isn't their fault. It is due to exclusive distribution rights with distributors outside the US. Sadly that is common.
For those of you saying that Massdrop should have gotten everything straight with AKG so that they would have known from the beginning that they couldn't ship internationally, which is better: having to cancel international shipping partway through, or not shipping internationally to anyone at all. That may be due to either you thinking that they are not going to fulfill international order that were already placed (they have already said that they will be fulfilling them) or me thinking that you were saying they should have cancelled it from the beginning when you meant that they should have talked it over with AKG to be able to ship internationally for the whole drop (which I don't think would have been possible. If they had tried to I suspect it would have resulted in no international shipping at all. It seems to me like AKG never told Massdrop they couldn't ship internationally and Massdrop assumed that they could, but I am just guessing and could be completely wrong).
EDIT: I formatted the last section so neatly and in the post it didn't show up :(
So can we let go of this now? I am keeping an eye on the discussion in case there are any updates and getting very tired of the entries on this subject.
Fine I'll remove my comment. It's getting too much flame already.
