Well I listened to a couple of songs at moderate volumes yesterday and the headphones sounded good to me then. After leaving them running in all night at medium volume, I got up today and decided to try them a little louder with some of my music. Coldplay, LCD Soundsystem, Jose James, Fleet Foxes, and several other artists produce some pretty garbled bass. It is not a rattle, the bass is just garbled. I tried playing flac files through my Fiio E12 and my Schiit Valhalla 2 with the same results. Not sure what the deal is. I don't have this issue with my ATH-M50x, Sennheiser HD 650, or my Grado RS2e. Is this just the nature of AKG headphones (don't crank them up), do I have a bad set, or do I need more than one night of burn in on them? I have read that AKGs can take several hundred hours of burn in to reach their full potential.
