Stalasti'm curious, at what point does the rattling occur? i haven't pushed the limits of my headphones yet, but so far haven't noticed anything. are people using DACs? Amplifiers? or just onboard sound?
xerowunI haven't received mine yet but I'm going by what other people have said so far. However driver rattling is surely just a hardware issue with the headphones themselves.
It's unknown how many of the units are defective, but I hope it's no more than 10%.
StalastWhatever is causing the rattling could have happened during shipping. I don't know the ins and outs of AKGs but with grados a fine piece of hair near the driver can cause rattling which can be easily removed.
xerowunThey mention it in the lower frequency range, around 60-80Hz. I use a pretty good DAC, an Audio-GD FUN, and it sounds great. I did some frequency tests and have no issues with any rattling at any frequency. It is nice to see that I get good frequency response down to 20Hz with these headphones though, that was pretty unexpected from such small drivers.
MarkWell, judging by the thread, it looks like it's already over 1% when you consider the fact that only a minority of people have received their cans so far, and that a lot of people probably haven't had the chance to even try them out properly yet, or people who simply don't realise the defect, yet already quite a few people have reported the issue so far.
Maybe I'm just being overly worried.
