S/N 250! No rattling issue (thank god), and sound quality is excellent for a pair of mid-fi open pair of headphones. Build quality is good enough and comfort is better much improved over the Q701 without the bumps. Memory foam earpads are very nice. Don't currently have the Q701, but if memory serves me, the K7xx does indeed seem to have improved bass response and does not sound as shrill/bright as the Q701. I personally found the Q701 to sound a bit artificial and overly bright (but that is just a personal preference). I do definitely prefer this new sound signature & it works well for EDM (I found the q701 lacking with bass-heavy genres). I think this new slightly bassy twist on the Q701 sound signature is a lot more versatile & more suited for most people. Sound stage is impressive as with most all AKG headphones. Tested with a variety of genres and no complaints with the sound. Paired with a Lyr 2 & Stoner Acoustic UD110v2 dac. Can compare later to the Hifiman HE-400 or HE-560 if anyone is interested. Recommended for people looking for a very well-performing $200 mid-fi open pair of headphones with a pretty neutral sound signature. Obviously, the reports of the rattling issues is discomforting, but I personally haven't had any issues with mine. Hopefully, the issue only effects a minority of users and from my experience, massdrop & akg have excellent customer service, so hope all you guys with issues get everything resolved to your satisfaction :)
