Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I've tried the AKG K712 before and my K7XX are pretty much identical to what I remember. I currently have an AKG Q701 and would pick the K7XX over them all day. The build quality is the same from the 3 pairs I've tried. No real complaints other than that the K712 was too expensive for what it is. Q701 bumps destroy your skull unless the headband is modded.
Imo AKG has some of the absolute worst packaging I have ever experienced. 0/100 on packaging. There is no good way to get them out of the box without battling the cardboard and box without tearing it to shit.
As far as the clamping force is concerned, mine has been consistent across all 3 pairs. The memory foam pads blow away the stock Q701 pads too. I have a much better seal with the K7XX and K712 respectively.
The clamp force on my K7XX is up there with my DT770 Pro (1+ yr old headband). My HD600 has a lot of perceived clamping force because they aren't as wide of a headphone/headband in my experience; the HD600 has the highest amount of clamp force on my head shape. My DT990 Premium/Edition might as well be falling off my head for how gentle the clamp force is when compared to the others listed prior in this comparison. Edit: added more clamp force comparisons.
