dissapointing to say the least. sounds on par with the senn hd588 lol. i had the anniversaries, sent them back for no reason. the price was actually worth it now i see. The biggest difference is in the responsiveness. These headphones sound very lazy. Seems i 've wasted money and time for no apparent reason. Also the treble is spiked up and unforgiving

radiohead_s1I have the HD598, and my K7XX are vastly superior(in my opinion)... and the HD598 is said to be better than the 588(in other peoples opinion)... but guess you just have a different taste

Stengellthe anniversary edition had a much better responsiveness to the sound, almost felt like there were two enormous speakers inside the the cups. The k7xx fall short in the responsiveness, anniversary edition were faster, needs burning in though i am hoping they get better.

radiohead_s1Not quite, but pretty much. Close enough of a description for most people's purposes. The great thing about placebo is that it works even if you know it is placebo! I hope you enjoy you headphones!

Bingabuffthere is a significant difference in sound between the headhpones, but it's not due to burn in. I bought a 65th anniversary again to check. This is what i found. Treble is hightened, don't know exactly why, but : 1. May have added slight treble boost, 2. The construction is less airy than the k702 annies. E.G

radiohead_s1Hey, to test the K7XX, you can remove the foam between the outside of the cup and the backside of the driver. You can remove the backing with tweezers. Insert the tips into the holes like in the photo, and apply steady but increasingly strong force counter-clockwise until the snaps release with a click. At that point, you can pull the grille straight out with the tweezers and get access to the foam disk. It is held in with a small piece of double-sided adhesive which can be removed cleanly. To reinstall the backing reverse the process - make sure you twist clockwise until it "clicks" into its final position.
