Back again already, I see! Got mine a few days ago, these things are freakin' amazing. Bass, treble, detailing, spaciousness, and for an open-back can it's not too imposing as a mini-pair of speakers. Honestly would've thought open-back to have -far- more sound leakage. Really curious on how these compare to Fidelio x2's and HD600's! If there's anyone browsing these comments and considering on taking the plunge; compared to my modded Mayflower V1 T50RP's, these are amazingly worth it(the K7XX), and at a cheaper price. That and the lightweight-ness of the cans o.o Lovin' 'em!
If your K7XX fits your head/ears comfortably and produce a sufficient seal.... don't bother looking for something better. I ended up selling my K7XX because I couldn't get a proper seal, but they were easily the most preferred to listen to for games and music for me. The X2 isn't as detailed and is more congested. It's not bad, but it's $100 more for what I would call "worse to my ears". The X2 has an excellent seal as does my HD600. My HD600's lack bass, sound stage and cause hotspots after a while due to the bumpy headband. Vocals are great on the HD600, but that isn't enough to justify it's price either. The K7XX is better than my DT990/600 at everything and don't decimate your ears with piercing hot treble. I have heard that the K7XX sounds a little recessed with vocals, but have seen comments stating it grew to be much less with more use (burn-in). I think it was probably their dac/amp + K7XX pairing or source.
tl;dr unless I want to spend $900+ on some flagship headphones or higher end planar magnetic headphones, I would've been more than satisfied with the K7XX if it was slightly smaller and fit my head better. Til then I'll be using my X2's despite them being less enjoyable and more comfortable.
