Anyone else having an issue where these don't fit tight enough and they keep falling down your head?

TJ_GeeThis is why I wish that AKG made slightly smaller sized headphones. The drivers/cups are probably too big for your head size, shape and ear size/shape. They were for me. I couldn't get a proper seal.
If it's not the size or seal, it may just be the elastic is too "loose" for their self-adjusting headband that it slides easily. The clamping force is nothing like a pair of Sennheiser cans. It's about the same clamping force as a Beyerdynamic Premium can, but without manual incremental adjustment. Getting them to fit well can be more of a challenge.
Idk if you can swap the elastic bands for something tighter if that would help or maybe the flat leather headband isn't resistant enough to stay in place upon your head (of hair). You could try adding something (different material) to the headband's bottom side so that won't slide as easily.
Those would be my suggestions to try. If you have a beanie or something you can throw on (without covering your ears), do so and see if the extra "size" helps it fit better. Not ideal by any means, but for troubleshooting it may be useful.

TJ_GeeI had the same issue when I first got mine, but If you wear them enough, the headphones take to the shape of your head and fit much more comfortably, and clamp better. Keep in mind these headphones are meant for audio listening, not gaming with friends while trying to eat a pizza. Have a good one!

NJbonelessI'll give them some time, but I was getting pretty aggravated with them the other day. They definitely aren't clamping hard enough. Much prefer how my DT990s and friend's HD598s fit.

socks_OCDDid you end up selling your set? Feels like the elastic bands don't have enough resistance so they end up "opening" all the way which means there's barely any clamping. Definitely find my DT990s more comfortable by a large margin.

TJ_GeeI did indeed sell my K7XX. Comfort is a large factor for me as I use headphones for very long listening sessions on average. The user on head-fi that I sold them to prefers their X2's over the K7XX as did I. Go figure.
I agree entirely with the DT990 being more comfortable in terms of fit and the pad feel. I've never tried a 598, but my HD600's were more preferable over the K7XX as well with the exception of the bumps on the headband (not as bad as Q701 bumps, but still a hotspot).
The only headphone that fit worse than the AKG series is a pair of Pioneer SE-A100 I tried a long while back. Those sucked shit through a straw. Pardon my language. Lol.

socks_OCDeach to their own, the K7XX is the most comfortable phone I've owned and fits me perfect. Pads/headband don't bother me at all.

marts_sumI wasn't trying to convince the guy of anything. Just sharing my personal experience after my suggestions to possibly remedy his loose fit. Your head is probably larger than ours or your head shape is more suitable to the K7XX.
I wasn't willing to adjust my K7XX 20-30+ times for 5-45+ minutes straight for a seal that was "to my satisfaction" (OCD more than anything). Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser and now my Fidelio X2's take less than 3 tries to get a proper seal and "peace of mind". I've since sold every pair of headphones other than my new X2's because they just fit my needs best. Keywords being 'my' and 'needs'.

socks_OCDI think we have the same genes with the putting the headphones on and off thing...

SherakoOne idea to contemplate is if the headphones themselves are to blame for the discomfort you're experiencing or a combination of both. I'll share an example of my own to convey what I mean for you to understand better.
My hair plays a large role in getting some headphones to fit better or worse (to my liking). #2 buzz cut is easy mode. It's longer at the moment for winter, but I cut it myself around my ears. I find that the headphone's pads touching my ears doesn't bother me, but matted down (oily) hair around/behind/in/on my ears does. Also when it's dry like winter weather right now, my ears can get red or itch more easily than summer weather. No real suggestion for that, just observation.
If you've never tried shorter hair, maybe consider it. Reducing your exposure to stress and/or anxiety will help any compulsion to make your headphones fit/feel "just so" as well. It's a lot easier to achieve that sense of "peace of mind" when you're calm and relaxed. Sometimes taking breaks from whatever is causing your compulsion to occur can help. It might be hard to avoid wearing headphones for a few days to a week, but the next time you put them on, the compulsion to have them fit "just so" might not have the same degree of severity as it may have prior to the break.
I've used this approach to remedy (or lessen) a lot of my "ticks" and "rituals" related to my OCD. It's not as "simple" as completely quitting something altogether like smoking cigarettes or drinking soda. It's hit or miss sometimes for me, but when it works... what a great feeling of relief. If you implement or try any of my suggestions, I wish you luck. ^^

IronLemonadeYour "wat" added nothing to the conversation and should have been kept to yourself imo. I find comments like these rather insulting and inconsiderate. I imagine you're less mature than I am, so I'll let it slide and leave you with a video. Watch it if you want to know what it's like to have OCD. Don't watch it if you couldn't care less. Life goes on either way.

socks_OCDThanks for that, that was fascinating. I somehow misread and missed the whole OCD thing, so I was just confused by your post. It's not something I can personally relate to, but that video was somewhat eye-opening, so I appreciate the perspective.

IronLemonadeAh, okay. I can see missing the mentioning of OCD if you only seen the one post. Lol, I've done that before. The 'view conversation' option on MD works pretty well..
