I've joined the drop for now but I'm still unsure. Yes, its an amazing deal for the price range. But the need for amps really bothers me. I don't have one as my current cans (M50 & M80) don't require amping. Sounds like you need around a $100 amp to get the full K7XX experience (and maybe a dac on top). I doubt I'll ever venture into 500+ territory as I have enough trouble already noticing differences between my current cans so to me it's the same as spending $300 on the K7XX.

generalzouYou don't need an amp to hear the music and modern motherboards should be able to deal with the 60ohms. If you want an amp you can add it later on in a year or so.

generalzouIf this is for a PC, a Creative Labs Sound Blaster Z sound card, $60-$80, would be a good value for trying to improve audio quality.
