So, these are some interesting headphones. I don't think they have as much bass as the closed California Headphone Company ones I have, but they sound pretty amazing as far as actual quality goes. You can hear bass, mids, and treble together at the same time, nothing seems drowned out. I'm not terribly experienced with headphones, so I can't say much about them, but they seem very neutral as far as the sound goes. I'll have to try them on my guitar amp. The CHC closed headphones I have seem to have a larger soundstage, and I can't seem to tell sounds off to the sides, but front/back is pretty obvious on these headphones.
The packaging kind of sucks. The headphones are held in place with two zip ties to a plastic tray. You only need to cut the white sticker once, it will pull the clear plastic cover away if you only cut the edge of the box. It's kind of odd how the box opens, and it feels like you might possibly be doing it wrong.
I'm able to drive them with a schiit fulla, maybe the quality lacks because of that specific dac, I don't know. Either way, the headphones are acutally pretty damn nice. I guess open and closed sound different, and these probably aren't so great for stuff like EDM, where you might want some punchy bass.
