I currently use the Audio Technica ATH-AD900X and I was wondering how these compare. I like bass but not too much. I will use these for gaming and listening to music in my house. What do you guys think of the sound? Is it a worthy upgrade? Will I need an amp or dac and if so which one would you recommend? Thanks! :D

SimonSt3rI can't compare the sound since I dont know how those audio technica's sound. But these are amazing. The sound is clear, and the basses are a bit more pronounced but otherwise they are pretty balanced. And the soundstage is incredibly open. These are my first open backs though so take what I say with a grain of salt. Also, you dont NEED an amp for these to run them off a desktop or a smart phone, but it will help to have a little more power to drive them well. And only get a dac if you are running them off a something with a lot of electrical interference. Otherwise you probably shouldnt need a dac. If you want to try a dac/amp combo thats pretty cheap there are some good ones that are under $100. I have the Fiio E10k for about $75, theres the Topping TP30-MARK2 for about $65, and that will work with speakers as well. Theres the Schiit Fulla for $60, and the Schiit Fulla 2 for $99. Those are all dac/combos which in my opinion are better if youre on a budget.
