These Headphones caused a heck ton of buzz when they came out 2 years. All tech youtuber gave it super good reviews and i kinda wanted to buy them back then but i never really had the money laying around. Now, that i had the money and bought a pair, i find myself regreting it more often than not. AKG/Massdrop had to cut cost somewhere and you see that. Also; i have heard the driver is from the Q701 and not the 702 65th anniversary, (don't quote me on that but i'm fairly certain it's the truth)
These Headphones are cheaply made and designed; the self adjusting headband system litterally is 2 super thin elastic bands and a cheap sheed of clear plastic; the headband itself is designed weirdly too. These cans a 126.9% more comfy when i wear them with the right cup on my left ear and viseversa. These headphones don't feel very high quality when you hold them; the plastic is cheap and makes weird noises when you handle the cans. The Earpads, on the other hand, are gorgeous; the memory foam is super soft and the pads huge. I wish more companies would make stock pads this good.
Let's talk a bit about sound.. It's okey for the most part, these headphones have absolutely nothing special to them tho. The sound is detailed enough to be enjoyed, but not detailed enough to use for critical listening in my opinion, the soundstage is there, it's neither super wide nor super narrow, the signature is kinda v-shaped, also nothing too crazy here. It's like AKG said: "Let's try to do everything, but all just a bit, but let's not get crazy anywhere and halfarse everything."
I preffer my Beyerdynamics DT 770 over these headphones anyday of the week, they are built much better and sound almost the same.

e.xoI have the Dt990 600OHm ATM and I'm wanting to try, not really try. Just have another pair of headphones that are total opposites to my Beyer's. You think these fit that bill? I already have Some 598's and my favorite is the 990, But i just really like headphones! lol

e.xoI own the K702 Annies and it's the same build. Just because something is thin and plastic doesn't automatically make it cheap and/or low quality. Think about how companies go to great lengths to make gadgets thin and lightweight (e.g. laptops). Oftentimes, it's by design. Maybe you disagree with the design choice and would rather have hefty headphones because you associate weight with quality, but that doesn't necessarily make these cheaply designed and built.

eksueni have nothing against a high quality, light weight built, but these headphones rattle and make weird noises everytime i handle and touch them; i wanted to say, you feel these are made in china

e.xoLots of things made in China are high quality and lots of things made there are cheap. It depends on who is doing the manufacturing. The same could be said for things made in USA. Made in China is no longer synonymous with low quality, and it hasn't been for a while. I find it troubling that so many Massdrop users still hold on to the notion that "made in China" = "cheap".
I suppose it's a shame that you find these headphones to be cheaply built. I wholeheartedly disagree.

e.xoDT770 is closed Headphone. Very good isolation. It is build like a tank. Very solid bass, but little bright. Difficult to compare to K7xx. Better compare to DT 880. Btw. K702 65th sounds better and looks more stylish. The pads are better. And it's really made in Austria.
