Do you need an amp to use these headphones? I want headphones that don't require a sound card/amp. Should I buy these or something different?

spas787According to many it's not a must-to have an amp since the ohm on these is quite low, but it can only benefit, if you not likely to listen to music at quite high volume then you probably won't need one.
As for me I have bought an amp/dac combo to run this (quite cheap one - FiiO e10k ~ 75$) and it works great for me, getting to very high volume even not on the max scale with zero distortions.
I may recommend you get these and test it out how it works for you, if you notice the volume is too low, just grab quite cheap dac/amp combo as I mentioned and you're good to go.

spas787FYI, a dac/amp combo might also improve the sound quality, so it might be good long-term investment, but of course up-to-you.
Regard a mic - I guess since you're short of money you're not going to use a interface as a connector for your mic, but a simple plug&play to motherboard (usb mic), if that's the case, the best one available on the market now is the Blue Snowball iCE Condenser - https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Snowball-iCE-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B014PYGTUQ/ref=sr_1_3?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1505309053&sr=1-3&keywords=snowball+ice
Has the best sound quality and noise filtering, will be great for streaming/discord etc'.

NaorFI'm new to this whole audio thing, and i don't want to spend too much money on something i know so little about. I have a headset but it has a lot of problems:bass is stupidly high, some song's i cant bare as they should have a quite bass that is amplified so much(the headphones were also broken in a way that made them unable to produce sounds lower then ~60 hz and higher then ~15khz but that was "fixed" and showed the bass issues),the mic is broken, the wire is ripped and the ear pads cracked. this is why i want to buy new cans. the mic is just something i want to try for my guitar/singing and just for regular use.

spas787If your objective as for mic to record with high quality guitar playing/singing I'd recommend you get an interface like: https://www.amazon.com/Focusrite-Scarlett-Audio-Interface-Tools/dp/B01E6T56CM/ref=sr_1_3?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1505310471&sr=1-3&keywords=scarlett+solo
and connect a mic to it via XLR for best quality, you can also connect to it your headphones plus a mic like this for e.g https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Professional-Broadcasting-Recording-Microphone/dp/B00XBQ8UGG/ref=as_sl_pc_qf_sp_asin_til?tag=andrhuan01-20&linkCode=w00&linkId=464c7c6be0c095f9f4cb3831b5aac603&creativeASIN=B00XBQ8UGG (which works great with an interface) here's a video showing you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMiuElvxEFw
That way you can either improve headphone quality/amp them and receive best recording quality(for guiter+singing)

If I were you I'd go this path, but since I don't use a mic so I'd go for dac/amp instead an interface.

NaorFI think ill get the snowball ice. Singing and playing the guitar is a hobby for me,so i think ill go for price and ease of use instead of using an audio interface. thanks for the help!

spas787I see people ask the question whether they need an amp, or whether amp X is enough to drive these. To be able to drive a headphone properly is not simply a matter of volume, it's volume and distortion. Volume is easy to get, however distortion is much harder to get rid of. To run these headphones without clipping distortion you'll ideally need 174mW @ 62 ohms, which is far more than a phone or motherboard jack can provide.

Jackulaso should i buy this bundle?-https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E6T54E2/ref=s9u_simh_gw_i1?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pd_rd_i=B01E6T54E2&pd_rd_r=EGBRB54HWBB19F5HHC90&pd_rd_w=biPaj&pd_rd_wg=kgdid&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=93N61Y8MA5WKA3S28902&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=1cf9d009-399c-49e1-901a-7b8786e59436&pf_rd_i=desktop&th=1 it seems like i need to spend at least 100 dollars on an amp for these headphones,200 dollars on the headphones, and 50 dollars on a mic. would i be better of buying this bundle for 150 dollars less to get a better mic but worse headphones?

spas787I think it's a good choice, the DAC on the Scarlette is quite decent. Though you may need a dedicated amp in the future, you can use the RCA outputs on your Solo to an amp that takes RCA (most of them do). Unfortunately I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to mics and recordings :(

JackulaThis looks like a very good value. For 200 dollars i cant find anything as good for the price. over ear headphones,100 dollar audio interface and an amazing mic. I have to say, i'm impressed.

spas787Not sure if you've figured out what to do yet, but I have a scarlet 2i2, and it drives these headphones fine. I would guess there's not a big difference to the solo, so you might be fine without a dedicated amp. I'm not sure it would necessarily even be an improvement.
