Anyone have any experience between these vs audio technica ath 900x/1000x vs hifiman 4xx for FPS pc gaming? I want the best positional audio and hearing footsteps as well as comfort over rumbling bass.
I have the 6xx but I have only worn them twice because they bother the top of my head after an hour so not for gaming for me

RareAirsI can't really say about the AD'S and the 4xx but I do have the K7XX and used to own the DT990 PRO and M560 so here is my two cents: I bought the DT990's on black friday and sold them 1 month later because as much as the soundstage and imaging are superb (good for FPS) they are a PAIN to listen to because of that treble spike. The bass is good but it doesn't extend as much as the K7XX which in my ears It gives off a "bloat" to the bass. Comfort is subjective but I wear a large baseball cap so pair that with the beyers tight clamp and you've got yourself a headphone that you can only wear for a couple of hours. And also after a couple of hours the headband that is sitting on my head became quite annoying. Pads are good though.
Compared to the K7XX in terms of comfort and sound, the K7XX wins by a land slide.
The M560 is alright IMO. In my ears, they both target the same balanced signature but the M560 is a bit brighter and has less soundstage. Bass is fast though thanks to DAT planar. Comfort is actually even worst than the DT990 because when you have a similar head than mine, you have to separate the cups even more which in turn tightens up the clamp thanks to the band that they use. The pads are very small for over ears. They modified their latest batch of M560'S so every thing I said so far about the M560 is the current version.
Again K7XX wins
Now the K7XX The K7XX is VERY COMFORTABLE. DAT memory foam pads and the suspension piece that acts as a headband are superb. These do fallout of your head if you're rockin' some tunes since they have a loose clamp. The sound is balanced, neutral to my ears and the soundstage is wide and has good imaging which is good for footsteps. Playing Fortunite, OW, & R6 on these are a joy.
There's my two cents:)
Audio and comfort are VERY subjective so take this with a grain of salt.
If you want to see see reviews of these headphones (or similar to them) I recommend you to watch Zeos, Metal571, and DM3STV for a more info
Happy listening my dude :)

RareAirsI only had the He-400i which is very similar to the 4xx, I can't say for the rest. They were very comfortable and good for gaming. I only had some problems with sounds above and below me, I think a lot of headphones have that problem though. People say the sound-stage is small on the 400 series but I haven't really had much experience with headphones with a wide sound-stage.
