It's not really limited if you're gunna sell it every week.... Why does massdrop lie about everything... Where the fuck did they get an extra 500 units....
BEARSxARExPEOPLExTOOWell, the timing of this is quite opportune because of the overlap with:
Massdrop O2 Amp
Massdrop O2 DAC
Massdrop O2 DAC/Amp Combo
Massdrop / Grace m9xx DAC/Amp Combo
Massdrop K7xx Headphones
A buyer can now pick up a complete system all at once (with staggered delivery dates, of course).
BEARSxARExPEOPLExTOOOk, I don't know where they got the extra 500 units so quick, but in the grand scheme it doesn't much matter.
"Limited" in this case means "Only available through Massdrop". Why is everyone getting so fucking hung up on this? Get a life! It's just a marketing term people. They could have used the word "Exclusive" and you would have seen the same argument as your seeing now.
What have they lied about?
I don't know if you ever purchased yourself a pair of the K7xx or not. If you did, then what is the problem? If you did not, then why are you here?
skpetic1I don't really care exactly how limited this drop is. But to be fair, I was initially under the impression that only a set number of these were being produced because AKG happened to have the parts to manufacture these.
WaddlePerhaps what happened is that they had parts on hand for maybe 1000 to 2000. (I understand these are based on the 65th annie edition if not the same thing without the Annie badge). Then seeing how popular they are, they decided to kick the machinery into gear again and make them at the behest of Massdrop. I'm just speculating.
It really doesn't matter at the end of the day. I mean, if you were a manufacture, why not bring back something super popular? It means more revenue for everything from R&D for the next item to making more of other items to keeping the lights on.
So many other times we see the opposite, like with Logitech, the minute they see an item become super popular, they stop production and kill it. (Reference the Squeezebox Touch).
